Full description

The Oby Freebird to Isla de Lobos

A 16-metre sailing catamaran out of Corralejo to Isla de Lobos, four hours, with a solarium deck and two nets slung over the water for the crossing. It carries up to 56, so it is a bigger, more sociable boat than the small-group catamaran, and it does one thing the anchored trips do not: it puts you ashore.

A zodiac runs you onto the islet for about an hour, long enough to walk, see the volcano and the lagoons, or swim off La Concha. The rest of the day is at anchor in one of the coves, with snorkelling and stand up paddle from the boat.

The access permit

The zodiac puts you on a protected natural park, and landing there needs an official authorisation. It is free and you apply for it yourself at lobospass.com. It does not come with the ticket, so sort it out before the day you sail.

Food and drink

Paella, salad and seasonal fruit, and drinks are included from start to finish: beer, cava, soft drinks and water.

Times and prices

Morning 10:00 to 14:00 or afternoon 14:30 to 18:30.

From Corralejo, 62 euros for adults and 38 for children, under-3s free. With a hotel coach from Caleta de Fuste, El Cotillo, Origomare or Lajares, 66 and 41.

There is also a longer Friday trip from the south of the island: five hours, 11:00 to 16:00, 75 euros for adults and 45 for children, with around two hours ashore on Lobos rather than one.

A good day out on the catamaran, with Lobos worth the trip on its own. The staff are very good company, the paella was not bad at all, and the open bar and the snorkelling were both done well. Adults and children enjoyed it equally.

Jul 2026

The two of us did the catamaran trip over to Lobos, and we were looked after beautifully, Raquel the interpreter above all. Many thanks to the whole team.

Jun 2026

The whole crew treated us well, on the way out and on the way back. Crossing to Lobos could not have been calmer, and when we return to the island we will do it again without hesitating.

Mar 2026

For me it was the highlight of the holiday. Clear water, untouched nature and complete quiet made the run over to Lobos something close to a dream. Anyone staying on Fuerteventura should fit it in.

Loved every bit of this trip. The staff could not have been friendlier and the boat itself is a lovely, comfortable one.
