Jet ski from Marina del Sur, Las Galletas

This is the departure that comes and gets you. Hotel pick-up is included from most of South Tenerife, so there is no taxi to arrange and no parking to find, which is the whole reason to pick Las Galletas over a marina you have to drive to.

Marina del Sur is also a quieter port than the big southern marinas, with the south coast straight off the entrance.

One hour or two

Two lengths, one hour or two, with eight riders per departure. Eight is a small group for a guided safari: less waiting around, and the guide can actually see everybody.

Riding it

Every trip opens with a safety briefing: how the machine handles, how much space to leave, how to stay with the group. No licence, and beginners are the normal case here.

The price is per jet ski, and one machine carries a driver and a passenger.

You ride alone from 18. At 16 or 17 you can drive with an adult on the back and a parent's signed consent. Passengers from seven, with an adult.

Just did the jet ski tour in Tenerife, riding those waves at high speed was pretty cool. Felt so free out on the water, really enjoyed the thrill of it.
