Full description
Lagomar, the Cactus Garden and La Graciosa
A full day in the north of Lanzarote: Lagomar and César Manrique's Cactus Garden in the morning, then La Graciosa, the small island off the northern tip, for a paella lunch and free time. Entry tickets, the ferry and the coach between the sites are included.
Lagomar
The coach takes you first to Nazaret, to Lagomar: a house set around caves and a lake, which belonged to the actor Omar Sharif and is now a museum. About 45 minutes there.
The Cactus Garden
Fifteen minutes on, in Guatiza, the Cactus Garden is one of César Manrique's works, with more than 1,500 varieties of cactus from around the world and the old windmill. Another 45 minutes.
La Graciosa
From the port of Órzola the ferry crosses to La Graciosa in about 25 minutes. In Caleta de Sebo the guide takes you to the church, and then lunch is served on board a ferry moored in the harbour: paella with seafood and chicken, with drinks. After lunch there is an hour and a half free on the island before the ferry back to Órzola.
Worth knowing
It runs on Mondays and Fridays. The tour starts at 10:30, and the starting point is confirmed with your booking. The vegetarian or seafood-free lunch is pasta with tomato sauce: ask for it when you book. Lagomar has a lot of stairs and the Cactus Garden has rocky ground, so the day is not recommended with reduced mobility. Children aged 4 to 12 pay a reduced fare.
