La Graciosa by catamaran, from Lanzarote

La Graciosa is the small island just off the northern tip of Lanzarote. This day takes you over on the ferry and then round it by catamaran: an hour along the coast, a long stop at anchor off Playa Francesa to swim, snorkel and kayak, and lunch with an open bar on board.

Getting there

A coach collects you from your hotel before 11:30 and drives you to Órzola, the port at the northern tip of Lanzarote. From there the ferry crosses to La Graciosa in about half an hour. The coach and the ferry are both included, there and back.

On the catamaran

On the quay the catamaran is waiting, with a glass of cava and appetisers. You are on board from 12:00 to 15:30. First an hour round the island, past white sand beaches, clear water and volcanic hills. Then the boat anchors off Playa Francesa, in the south of the island, inside a natural park and marine reserve. Kayaks and snorkelling gear are on board, and you swim from the boat: the park's rules do not allow landing on that beach. Lunch is served on board, with unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks.

Caleta de Sebo

Back in the port there is an hour free in Caleta de Sebo, the fishing village where the ferry docks, with its craft market. The ferry leaves at 16:30 and the coach takes you back to your hotel from 17:00.

Worth knowing

Bring swimwear, a towel, sun protection and a jacket. With a gluten intolerance, let us know in advance. The trip is not accessible for wheelchairs, and the toilet on board is down a vertical ladder.
