Fuerteventura Day TripEl Cotillo, Corralejo and the Dunes

A day on Fuerteventura, from Lanzarote

Fuerteventura is half an hour from Lanzarote by ferry. This guided day takes you over from Playa Blanca to see El Cotillo, Corralejo and the Corralejo dunes, with time on the beach before the ferry home. The coach from your hotel and the ferry are included. It runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The crossing

The coach collects you between 8:00 and 9:00 and takes you to Playa Blanca, where the ferry leaves at 9:30. The crossing to Corralejo takes about 30 minutes, and there is wifi on board.

El Cotillo and Corralejo

The first stop is El Cotillo, a fishing village on the north-west coast, from 11:00 to 12:30: time for the beach, the seafront or a drink on a terrace. Then Corralejo, from 13:00 to 14:30, to walk the streets, shop, or have fresh fish for lunch in one of its restaurants. Lunch is not included.

The dunes and the beach

At 14:30 the coach drives into the natural park of the Corralejo dunes, 4,600 hectares of white sand, and stops so you can walk on them. From 15:15 to 17:00 you are free on the long beaches beside the park. The ferry leaves Corralejo at 17:30, and the coach takes you back to your hotel.

Worth knowing

Bring a valid passport, checked when you board the ferry. The guide speaks Spanish, English, German or French. Bring swimwear, a towel and sun protection for the afternoon.
