Full description

Private yacht charter in Gran Canaria aboard the Black Dune

The Black Dune is a De Antonio D32, a 9.9-metre sport yacht running private charters along the south coast of Gran Canaria from Puerto Deportivo Pasito Blanco. It takes up to nine guests and it is never shared: the price covers the whole boat, so a group of nine pays the same as a group of three.

What the boat is like

The D32 carries 600 HP, which means it moves quickly between coves and then sits steady once the anchor is down. There are wide sunbeds on the bow, orange leather seating in the cockpit and shade when the sun gets strong. It is a small, fast boat rather than a floating hotel, which is the point: you spend the day in the water and on deck, not walking around a saloon.

The Seabob

A Seabob is available on board as an optional extra. It is an electric underwater scooter that pulls you along the surface and below it, with no diving gear and nothing to learn. It turns an ordinary swim stop into the part of the day people remember, and children take to it as fast as adults do.

How long you can book it for

Charters run from two and a half hours to a full day. The morning slots are 10:00 to 12:30 and 13:00 to 15:30, the sunset slot is 16:00 to 18:30, and a shorter 17:00 to 18:30 run is sometimes available. Half days are four or six hours and a full day is eight, from 10:30 to 18:30. Extra hours at anchor or cruising can be added when you book.

What is included

The charter comes with the skipper and the fuel, so nobody in your group needs a licence. A welcome drink is waiting when you step aboard, and water, beer, soft drinks and appetizers are on board throughout. À la carte catering, a photo session and towels are optional extras, arranged when you book.
