Full description

Deep-sea fishing in Tenerife aboard the Raggie

The Raggie is a 36-foot Rodman that fishes the deep water off the south coast of Tenerife, out of Club Náutico Puerto Colón in Costa Adeje. Twin 250 hp engines get you to the marks quickly, which matters here: the sea bed drops away sharply within a few miles of this coast, so the offshore fishing starts far closer to shore than it does in most of Europe.

Shared rod or the whole boat

You can join a shared trip, where you take one of the rods alongside other anglers, or book the whole boat privately for up to eight people. Shared trips run four hours; private charters go from four hours up to ten, and the longer ones are what you want if you are serious about reaching the further marks.

What is on board

Rods, reels, tackle, bait and lures are all provided, and the Canary Islands fishing licence is included, so there is nothing to arrange before you arrive. Drinks and snacks are on board, with hot food on the longer trips, and there is a fridge and a freezer so both the drinks and the catch stay cold.

What you might catch

It depends on the month. Tuna and dorado run through the warmer half of the year, and blue marlin appear at the peak of the summer. The crew adapts the technique, usually trolling, to the season and the conditions on the day. No experience is needed: the crew rigs everything and talks you through it.

We went fishing as a family and Mike put us at ease from the start. He is very professional, helped with everything and showed us several techniques. We landed some good fish and the afternoon was great.

A good way to spend time with the people close to you. Captain Raul and Michael showed and explained everything, and every one of us pulled in a fish. The atmosphere was pleasant, and I would recommend it.

I went out with my son. The plan was trolling plus deep-water fishing, but we got so caught up in the skipjack that we trolled the whole way, and the fights were good. Michael and Raúl know these waters and the tricks that work, we saw whales and dolphins too, and any angler should give it a go.

The best fishing trip I have done in Tenerife: professional, attentive and properly equipped. Fighting a 30 kg wahoo on my first outing is not something you forget.

Feb 2026

A childhood dream that finally came true. The crew are friendly and enthusiastic and do everything they can to give you a good day of sport fishing. I will definitely be back.

Quite an adventure. Luck was with us and we landed a big one, and Michael and Raúl were great company throughout. I would recommend it.
