Full description

Guided dives in Radazul, Tenerife, for certified divers

Radazul sits on the east coast of Tenerife, in El Rosario, between Santa Cruz and Candelaria. The water here is normally calmer than on the south coast, and the marina puts you a few minutes from the dive sites. The centre is a PADI 5 Star dive centre with its own Zodiac and more than twenty-five sites around the island to choose from.

The dive sites

Among them are the sunken wreck off Tabaiba, La Catedral and the Cueva de las Morenas, along with volcanic arches and reefs. Which one you dive is decided each morning, on the weather, the level of the group and what people want to see. Divers here see stingrays, moray eels, groupers and turtles, and visibility is over twenty metres most of the year.

One dive or two

Guided dives leave at 09:30, daily except Monday. You can book one dive, or two back to back the same morning with a 45-minute surface interval between them. Afternoon and night dives run on request. For longer stays there are packs of four, six, eight or ten dives: you book the first day and schedule the rest with the centre. Two-dive excursions to the north, south or east coast of the island are also organised.

Equipment and insurance

Bring your own gear, or rent a full set or single pieces when booking. Dive insurance with DAN, for a day, two days, a week or a year, can be added the same way. At the centre there are changing rooms, hot showers, a place to wash and store your equipment, and free parking.

Back in the water after a break

If you have not dived for a while, the PADI ReActivate refresher comes in three sizes: the BASIC, a theory review plus a skills dive in about three hours; the STANDARD, which adds a second supervised dive, by Zodiac when the logistics allow, over about five hours and with a minimum of two people; and the PLUS, which adds a picnic.

Conditions

The sea off Radazul holds twenty to twenty-five degrees all year, so there is no closed season. Leave 24 hours between your last dive and a flight, or a trip up to Teide. The centre is closed on Mondays.

Not certified yet

The same centre runs a try dive at Radazul that needs no licence, and the PADI Open Water and Advanced courses at Radazul if you want the certificate.
