Lady Sunshine is a Bavaria Cruiser 55, a 16.10-metre sailboat you hire as a private charter on the south coast of Tenerife. It suits groups who want space and comfort at sea, from a half-day cruise to a multi-day island-hopping trip. A professional crew handles the sailing, and food and a free bar are included on every cruise.

What the charter is like

You sail from Puerto Colón along the south and southwest coast, with calm waters and views back to the island. The boat has a 4.87 m beam, a Volvo Penta 110 HP engine and a cruising speed of around 5 knots. On board you can use a paddle surf, a two-person kayak and snorkelling gear, and there is a swimming stop in a selected bay when conditions allow. Dolphins and turtles are sometimes seen from the deck, though the boat does not go looking for them.

Cruise lengths and routes

Day charters run from 3 to 8 hours with customisable departure times. The 3 to 4-hour cruise is a relaxed coastal sail that may visit Playa Diego Hernández, Playa del Puertito, Playa El Callao or Playa Las Vistas, depending on the weather. The 5 to 8-hour cruise goes further, reaching the Los Gigantes cliffs and Masca Bay, which is good for snorkelling and paddleboarding.

Multi-day charters

Lady Sunshine also runs 3, 5 and 7-day charters with overnight stays, anchored in quiet coves or moored in marinas. The 3-day route is Tenerife to La Gomera and back; the 5-day adds La Palma; the 7-day adds El Hierro. For overnight trips the boat sleeps up to 6 guests across 3 cabins, with 2 full bathrooms, an interior lounge, a fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning and a Bluetooth audio system.

Food, drink and crew

Catering includes a cold cuts board, a cheese selection, Spanish omelette, hummus with crudités, nachos with guacamole, mixed appetizers, a fresh fruit platter and macarons. The free bar covers white wine, cava, beer, juices, soft drinks and water, and cocktails can be added on request at extra cost. The captain and hostess are multilingual, speaking Spanish, English, Russian and Italian. Tell us about any dietary needs at least 48 hours ahead so the menu can be adapted.

Booking, pick-up and cancellation

You choose your departure time, and meeting is at Puerto Colón, Pantalán 14; arrive 15 minutes early for check-in. Hotel pick-up and drop-off from Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje is available on request for an extra fee, selected during booking. Daily private charters can be cancelled free up to 7 days before departure and multi-day charters up to 30 days before. No-shows are non-refundable.
