A helicopter tour over Tenerife from Adeje
A helicopter tour is one of the best ways to see Tenerife from the air, and flights run daily from Adeje in the south of the island. You can choose a short scenic hop or a longer loop, with flights lasting between 8 and 50 minutes and room for up to four guests per helicopter. The pilot gives commentary in English and Spanish throughout, so you know what you are looking at as you pass over the coast and the mountains.
What you will see
Routes range from a 20 km coastal flight to an extensive 120 km trip around the Los Gigantes cliffs and El Teide. You fly over beaches, the rugged coastline and the volcanic interior, depending on the length you pick. All flights leave in the morning, between 10:00 and 11:00, when the light and visibility over the island are at their best.
Shared and private flights
Shared flights take up to four guests, which suits families and small groups travelling together. If you want a more personal experience, private flights are available and can be customised to the sights and timing you have in mind. You can also add a photo package from €35 to capture the views.
Getting there and what to bring
The departure point is in Adeje, and you make your own way there. Bring a valid form of photo ID for check-in, and wear comfortable clothing for the day's weather with closed-toe shoes. Sunglasses and a camera or smartphone are worth packing. On arrival you get a short safety briefing before take-off.
Who can fly and practical notes
Flights are suitable for all ages. For safety there is a weight limit of 110 kg per passenger, and anyone over this may need to book an extra seat. Let us know about any specific needs or weight requirements when you book, and larger comfort measures can be arranged for plus-size guests.
Booking and cancellation
Book ahead to secure your place, as morning flights fill up. You can cancel up to 7 days before the flight for a full refund. If poor weather means the flight cannot run safely, you can rebook for another date or take a full refund instead.

The team were very friendly and you can tell the pilot enjoys his work. You get to places that no road or path reaches. We would fly with them again any time.

Even a short flight feels much longer than it is, and the view from up there is striking. The woman who took our documents was welcoming and careful, and so was the pilot. There is a camera on board and a separate photographer taking pictures.
