Forestal Park Tenerife: a zip line and adventure park in the pine forest
Forestal Park Tenerife is the largest zip line and adventure park in the Canary Islands, set among centenary pine forest in La Esperanza, in the hills of north Tenerife. There are over 90 high-altitude challenges, including zip lines, suspension bridges, nets and lianas, spread across routes for different ages and confidence levels. Entry starts at €26, and all safety equipment is provided.
What to expect on the courses
The park is built up in the treetops, so you move from platform to platform along a mix of bridges, nets and zip lines. Routes run from gentle walks through the canopy to higher, faster sections for people who want more of a thrill. Qualified staff keep you clipped in throughout, and every visit starts with a safety briefing.

Your ticket covers park entry, access to the treetop courses, all safety equipment (harness and helmet), the safety briefing and supervision by qualified staff. There is free visitor parking at the entrance, and a cafe on site for food and drinks. Booking online lets you secure your spot, and group and family discounts are available.
Location, opening hours and getting there
From 19 June to 6 September Forestal Park opens every day from 10:00 to 19:00, with entry times at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 14:00, 15:00 and 16:00. From 7 September to 24 October it opens Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, 10:00 to 19:00. In both seasons the last entry is at 16:00. Check in 30 minutes before your booking time. The park is in La Esperanza; from south Tenerife the drive takes at least 1 hour, so allow for mountain roads and local cyclists and plan your journey in advance. You arrive under your own transport, and parking is free.
Who it is for and what to wear
The park suits a wide range of ages and abilities, from families with children to groups looking for a more active day out. Wear comfortable, active clothing and closed footwear, and bring sunscreen and water for a day outdoors. Children take part on age-appropriate routes, so check the park's height and age guidance for the higher courses. There is an upper age limit of 69 and a maximum weight of 110 kg.
Booking and cancellation
Booking ahead is recommended, as the park can fill up, and confirmation is instant by email with a unique reference number. You can cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before your booking. No-shows are non-refundable.

A good spot if you want to move about: courses at several difficulty levels, though not every one of them suits children on their own. The instructors explain things clearly, and tables can be hired for parties. Canary pines stand all around, plus one enormous eucalyptus.
Ein schöner Ort, wenn man sich bewegen will: Parcours in verschiedenen Schwierigkeitsgraden, wobei nicht jeder davon für Kinder allein taugt. Die Betreuer erklären alles verständlich, und man kann Tische für Feiern mieten. Ringsum stehen kanarische Kiefern und ein riesiger Eukalyptus.
We had a brilliant time. Alejandro, the instructor we got, was very friendly and clearly knew his job.

A good plan for a group: the course is well put together and the staff were friendly. There is also a machine that prints photos, so take one before you start and pick up the print as a keepsake. I would do it again.

It was a birthday gift for the three of us, and it is daunting at first, since not everyone copes well with heights and there are stretches that take some nerve. Worth knowing: once you start a circuit you finish it, there is no getting off halfway, and you stay clipped to a safety line the whole way.
Fuimos tres, de regalo de cumpleaños, y al principio impone, porque no todo el mundo lleva bien la altura y hay tramos que piden valor. Conviene saber que un circuito se empieza y se acaba, no hay salida a mitad, y que vas siempre enganchada a la línea de vida, así que la seguridad está resuelta.
Bring hats and sports gloves if you come in winter: the metal clips are fiddly for small cold hands, and younger children really need one adult each. My eight and ten year olds managed the first course, though it got awkward when one needed help. Friendly staff, in English and Spanish, and the bigger courses looked excellent.
One of the best family days we have had. The staff were attentive, checked our kit and made sure everyone was safe before we set off. My son is autistic and the rush from the ziplines was exactly his thing; we came away with very good memories.
We were back for a second go and the boys were as keen as ever. Being up in the forest, climbing about with a bit of adrenaline, suits everyone, since the routes run from easy to hard. What stayed with us was the team: smiling, helpful, and Oscar answered all our worries about the weather before we arrived.
