What’s included when you rent a boat in Tenerife

Every private charter in our fleet includes a professional crew (captain and at least one crew member), an open bar (beer, wine, cava, soft drinks, water), food (ranging from snack platters to freshly prepared paella, depending on the boat and charter length), and water sports equipment (typically paddleboards, snorkelling gear, and on some boats kayaks, inflatables, and underwater scooters).

Longer charters of 5 hours or more usually sail as far as the cliffs of Los Gigantes and Masca Bay on the west coast. Shorter charters stay along the southern coastline between Puerto Colón and Los Cristianos, stopping in sheltered bays for swimming.

Whale watching on a private yacht

The waters off the south coast of Tenerife are home to around 500 resident short-finned pilot whales and 250 bottlenose dolphins. Every private charter passes through this area, so whale and dolphin sightings are part of the experience on virtually every trip. Sighting rates for pilot whales are close to 100%.

The difference between seeing whales from a private yacht versus a shared boat excursion is that you’re watching from a quiet deck with just your group, not from a catamaran carrying 50 people. All our boats follow the Canary Islands’ whale watching regulations and keep the required distance from the animals.

Self-drive boat hire

If you hold a valid boat licence, we also offer self-drive boat rental from Puerto Colón. You captain the boat yourself along the Costa Adeje coastline. No crew, no set route.

Practical information

Where do boats depart from? Most yachts depart from Puerto Colón marina in Costa Adeje. One yacht (Bellini) departs from Los Gigantes. Parking is available at both marinas.

How many people can come? Our boats take between 8 and 12 guests, depending on the vessel. For larger groups, contact us and we can advise on the best option or combine boats.

What should I bring? Swimwear, towel, and sunscreen. Most boats provide everything else.

Can I cancel or reschedule? Most charters offer free cancellation 4 to 7 days in advance. Weather cancellations are always fully refundable or rescheduled at no cost.
