Flyfish Tenerife: a high-speed ride off Costa Adeje

Flyfish Tenerife is a fast water sport off the south coast of the island. You hold onto a specially designed inflatable raft while a motorboat tows it across the waves, so the raft lifts and dives as you ride. Each ride lasts about 10 minutes and takes up to six people at a time. It runs daily from Puerto Colón in Costa Adeje, and you get a safety briefing and all equipment before you set off.

What the ride is like

You start at Puerto Colón, where the team introduces the Flyfish, runs through a safety briefing and fits your equipment. Then you strap in and hold on as the motorboat pulls the raft out over the water off Playa de las Américas. Expect plenty of spray and a short, high-speed ride of around 10 minutes.

What's included

Your ride includes all safety equipment, life jackets and a full briefing before departure, plus professional supervision throughout. Photos and videos are available to buy on the day if you want them. Up to six people can ride together, and there are group rates as well as rates for spectators.

Location and getting there

Who it's for and what to bring

The Flyfish ride is open from age 10, and riders under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. There is no upper age limit. Basic swimming ability is required. It is not suitable if you have back or heart problems, a serious medical condition, are pregnant, or are not comfortable in the water. Wear swimwear, bring a towel and sunscreen, and pack a waterproof camera or a phone in a protective case if you want to film the ride.

You can book in advance to secure your spot. Plans can change, so you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before your Flyfish in Tenerife for a full refund. No-shows are non-refundable.
