Excursión en barco Freebird One en Tenerife: avistamiento de ballenas y delfines
El Freebird One es un catamarán que navega por la costa sur de Tenerife para observar ballenas y delfines en su hábitat natural. Es una de las excursiones en barco en Tenerife más populares y sale cada día desde Puerto Colón, en Costa Adeje. Puede elegir entre tres duraciones, todas con bebidas y comida ilimitadas a bordo y una tripulación multilingüe que señala la fauna marina durante la travesía.
Qué excursión elegir
Hay tres opciones. La excursión de 2 horas sale los lunes, miércoles y viernes a las 11:00, con bebidas ilimitadas y una parada para nadar en la bahía resguardada de El Duque (esta opción no incluye transporte). La excursión matinal de 3 horas sale diariamente a las 10:00 y combina el avistamiento de delfines y ballenas con una parada para nadar. La excursión vespertina de 4,5 horas sale diariamente a las 13:00 y navega hasta los acantilados de Los Gigantes y la bahía de Masca, con almuerzo incluido.
Qué incluye a bordo
Todas las excursiones incluyen bebidas ilimitadas: agua, refrescos, cerveza y sangría. Se sirven sándwiches, con opción vegetariana bajo petición, y la excursión de tarde incorpora almuerzo. Si prefiere más comodidad, puede añadir una cama balinesa solo al llegar al barco por 25€ por cama, sujeto a disponibilidad (no se puede reservar con antelación). La tripulación es multilingüe y comparte información sobre las ballenas, los delfines y el entorno marino local durante la travesía.
Salida y cómo llegar
El catamarán sale del Muelle 10 de Puerto Colón. La recogida y el regreso gratuitos al hotel están incluidos en las excursiones de 3 y 4,5 horas desde puntos seleccionados del sur de Tenerife; elija su punto de recogida durante la reserva. Si lo prefiere, puede ir directamente a Puerto Colón. En cualquier caso, llegue al menos 10 minutos antes de la salida.
Reserva y cancelación
Puede cancelar o modificar su reserva sin cargo hasta 48 horas antes de la excursión. Si las condiciones meteorológicas o del mar no permiten realizar la excursión con seguridad, se ofrece una fecha alternativa o un reembolso completo. Tenga en cuenta que el mareo no es motivo válido para un reembolso una vez iniciada la excursión, así que tome precauciones si lo necesita.

Salió una travesía preciosa, con su baño y sus ballenas, pero lo que nos ganó fue el trato: al peque lo trataron como si fuera el capitán del barco. Gracias a Luis, a Edu y a Andre. Lo recomiendo sin dudarlo.
Dolphins, whales and turtles all turned up, and we stopped at a beach for a swim. Soft drinks, beer and sangria came with it, and there was music and singing going on the whole way. The staff made it. Recommended if you are visiting.
I had worried about getting on and off the catamaran, and it turned out to be no trouble at all. No seasickness either, though I did take a tablet first. Pilot whales came close by; no dolphins, but nobody had promised those. Good crew, and a trip I would recommend.
Hicimos la excursión a Los Gigantes en familia y no pudo salir mejor. Al ser los únicos españoles a bordo, Mirella se sentó con nosotros para contarnos en nuestro idioma lo que explicaba en los demás. Los niños encantados, comida rica, bebida sin límite y un baño en mar abierto espectacular.
The four of us went out on the boat and it was the best day of the holiday, no contest. The staff were attentive and clearly knew their whales. Roberto and his crew were brilliant with our two, even letting them take the wheel.

Die Crew an Bord war gut drauf, Kapitän Denny ist ein Spaßvogel. Unterwegs haben wir einen Vogel gerettet, dazu Delfine und einen Wal gesehen. Alles in allem empfehlenswert.
My kid took a turn at the wheel and the food was excellent. Pilot whales came by, the cliffs were something else, and the swim was chilly but fine once you were in. Pick a clear, sunny day if you can; the seats are comfortable and the crew looked after us.
Friendly, well-informed crew who could not have been more gracious, and the catamaran itself was clean and properly stocked. All round it was a good outing.
Pilot whales showed up on our short sailing, though the dolphins stayed away that day. The staff were so friendly that they made it special anyway.

Short-finned pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins both came into view, which made the trip for us. Gaetano, Hergar, Johnaas and Josue were a lovely crew to spend it with.
